Your hosts Julia & Steve look forward to welcoming you to La Vieille Maison d’Aurin – come and relax, explore, enjoy the views, wildlife and superb hospitality.
Having recently taken the plunge and moved to France we look forward to sharing our delightful newly renovated house with you.
By the time you arrive at Maison D’Aurin you will have already enjoyed the natural beauty of this region of France. You will receive the warmest of welcomes and time to unwind in your room or in the guest lounge with a refreshing drink and homemade cake. Depending on when you arrive you could take a dip and relax by the pool, head out to explore the area, or just relax gazing at the lake with a cool drink prior to dinner either with ourselves with one of the many local restaurants.
Situated in the heart of the Perigord Limousin National Park which spans the departments of Haute Vienne & Dordogne, we are located in the small hamlet of Aurin, just a few minutes from the villages of Bussiere Galant & Les Cars. The nearest town is the medieval Chalus where Richard The Lionheart (Richard Coeur de Lion) was mortally injured in 1199 within the grounds of Chateau de Chalus Chambrol.
An ideal base for touring the historic areas of Haute Vienne and adjoining Dordogne.
Our house is a traditional imposing Maison de Maitre (Master’s House) overlooking the delightful picturesque Swan Lake (Etang des Cygnes) and surrounding woodlands to the front and gardens with adjoining farmland to the rear.
Purchased in late 2018, the house has been renovated to the highest standards to offer three large comfortable double bedrooms with luxury bathrooms, guest sitting room, dining room and outside spaces to relax and get away from it all.
Our ethos is to give guests a relaxed, friendly country house ambience where you can take a break from your day’s activities to unwind, recharge and above all have an enjoyable stay.
We look forward to seeing you soon.
